Google Ads and Advertising: build and monitor campaigns

Last updated:

What Advertising does

Advertising in the left sidebar is the home of your ad accounts. Google Ads is the only platform with a campaign builder in Enydea. The Facebook / Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest cards only open Social Media, where you connect those accounts. Enydea cannot build Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest or TikTok ad campaigns.

The Advertising Platforms screen listing Google Ads, Facebook / Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest and the Budget Controller

Advertising Platforms. Connected platforms are marked; the Budget Controller opens its own dashboard.

Note: The Advertising and Google Ads screens are English only, also in the Dutch, German and French app.

Warning: Enydea works on your real Google Ads account. Enabling a campaign, changing a budget, or applying a budget plan can spend real money there. Enable and Pause act at once, with no confirmation. Budgets are applied in your Google Ads account's currency, whatever currency a field shows.

Before you start

  • A Google Ads account that you can sign in to, with its customer ID.
  • A marketing relation selected in Current Account in the sidebar. The Google Ads connection belongs to that relation.
  • Optional: a Google Merchant Center account ID for Shopping or Performance Max campaigns.

Connect Google Ads

  1. Open Advertising, then select Manage Accounts.
  2. In the Google Ads section, select Connect with Google.
  3. Sign in to Google and approve access.
  4. Back in Enydea, pick the account in Select Google Ads Account.

If an account shows No Customer ID, select Select Customer and pick one. The pencil icon (Edit Customer ID) changes it, in the format 123-456-7890. Select a row to make it the Active account. Disconnect All removes the Google Ads connections of this relation.

When an account is connected, Configure Tracking Tag opens Configure Website Tracking. Enter the Google Ads Conversion ID (like AW-XXXXXXXXXX) and select Save & Enable Tracking. The tag loads on your website only after visitors give marketing consent. See Website tracking and consent. The LinkedIn and Pinterest sections have the same prompt (Configure Insight Tag, Configure Pinterest Tag). Your website loads the LinkedIn Insight Tag. A Pinterest Tag ID is saved but not loaded.

Budget Controller

Budget Controller splits one monthly budget across channels.

  1. Select New Budget. Enter a Name, Total Monthly Budget and Currency.
  2. Choose Fixed %, switch channels on, and set a percentage per channel. The total cannot pass 100%.
  3. Select the budget, then Preview allocation to see monthly and daily amounts. The daily amount is the monthly amount divided by 30.
  4. Apply to platforms asks you to confirm.

What Apply to platforms does:

  • Google Ads: only for a channel with a value in Google Ads account ID. For every enabled campaign in that account, Enydea sets the daily budget to an equal share of the channel's daily amount. This overwrites budgets you set before.
  • Facebook / Instagram and LinkedIn: the amounts are stored in Enydea only. Nothing is sent to Meta or LinkedIn. Facebook can show Applied anyway.

The Google Ads account ID field needs the id that Enydea stores for your Google Ads connection. The customer ID on the accounts page (123-456-7890) is a different number, and no screen shows the stored id. If Google Ads shows Error, do not assume anything was applied. To control spend, set budgets per campaign in campaign detail.

Dynamic (performance) mode and Auto-apply allocations every reallocation period are on the form, but Preview and Apply use the percentages only, and nothing runs on a schedule.

Open Google Ads on the Advertising page, or Dashboard in the account section.

Dashboard

The dashboard lists campaigns with spend, clicks, conversions and daily budget, with filters All, Active, Paused and Draft. Sync imports campaigns and metrics from Google Ads, including campaigns created outside Enydea. The play and pause icons enable or pause a campaign immediately. Buttons open New Campaign, AI Analytics, Asset Review, AI Auto-Setup, Retargeting, AI Agent Hub and Account Settings.

Setup Wizard

The wizard is at https://app.enydea.com/google-ads/onboarding. It asks for Business Info, Goals, Targeting and Budget, then offers AI Smart Setup or Manual Setup. Apply & Create Campaign only opens the campaign builder with your answers. Nothing is created in Google Ads yet.

Campaign builder

Select New Campaign. The tabs are Campaign Settings, Ad Content and Preview & Launch.

  1. In Campaign Settings, set the name, Campaign Type (Search, Performance Max, Display, Shopping or Video), Daily Budget, Bidding Strategy, Target Countries and Target Languages. AI Campaign Advisor suggests a type, bidding and budget. Generate Keywords with AI suggests keywords.
  2. In Ad Content, generate headlines (30 characters at most) and descriptions (90 at most) and select the ones you want.
  3. In Preview & Launch, check the summary and select Create Campaign.

Create Campaign creates the campaign, its budget and its country and language targeting in Google Ads, with status PAUSED. Save as Draft only returns to the dashboard and saves nothing. Enydea does not create the ads themselves in Google Ads. The headlines and descriptions stay in Enydea.

Campaign detail

Select a campaign to Pause or Enable it, open Analytics or Extensions, view performance for Today, 7 days, 30 days or 90 days, and change the daily budget under Budget & Bidding (this updates Google Ads). New Ad Group adds an ad group with a name, Max CPC and status. Shopping and Performance Max campaigns also show Product Groups & Filters.

Asset Review

Asset Review is a checklist for headlines and descriptions. Pick a Campaign and Content Language, optionally Generate AI Assets, then approve, reject or flag in Pending Review, Approved and Issues. Your decisions are not saved and nothing is sent to Google Ads.

AI Auto-Setup (Performance Max)

  1. Enter your Website URL and select Preview Products.
  2. Choose Ad Channels and the options. The channels only decide which image sizes are generated.
  3. Select Start AI Campaign Setup. When it finishes, select Create Google Ads Campaign, fill in the name, budget and countries, and select Create Campaign.

This creates a paused Performance Max campaign with an empty asset group. Add the generated images in Google Ads. When a setup job finishes, Auto-sync new products (on by default, see AI Agent Hub) also adds the product and service names as structured snippets to every enabled campaign in the connected account.

Other screens

ScreenWhat it does
Merchant Center ProductsReached from a Shopping or Performance Max campaign (View Products). Enter the Merchant Center Account ID, Load Products or Sync from Merchant Center, and tick In Campaign. The tick is saved in Enydea.
AI AnalyticsAI Performance Analysis compares campaigns and writes rankings, budget advice and tips.
Comprehensive Strategy AdvisorAt https://app.enydea.com/google-ads/strategy. No screen links to it. Generate Strategy writes a plan.
RetargetingNew Audience builds a CRM segment from rules. Sync to Platforms sends hashed email addresses (and phone numbers, when stored) of matching CRM relations to Google Ads Customer Match. Facebook sync needs a Facebook ad account ID that no Enydea screen collects, so it ends with an error.
ExtensionsReached from campaign detail. Adds conversion actions, sitelinks, callouts, call extensions and snippets in Google Ads.
AI Agent HubNightly performance report at 2am by email, hourly budget monitoring with an alert threshold, optional Auto-pause campaign when budget is 100% exceeded, and Auto-sync new products. Run report now sends one. Alerts appear under Agent Alerts.

Note: A connected Google Ads account runs the nightly report and budget monitoring with default settings even if you never open AI Agent Hub. Auto-pause is off by default.
